The Dish on Downtown

From historic charm to modern flavors, downtown Little Falls is a foodie’s paradise. Whether you’re a lifelong resident or just visiting for the weekend, our downtown bars and restaurants offer a menu for every craving.

Grab your fork and join us for a tour of the best bites in town!

New to the Scene: Christensen’s Bar

Little Falls’ oldest bar has entered a brand-new chapter! Formerly known as Cary’s Bar (and the Whiskey River Saloon before that), the space has been reimagined as Christensen’s Bar. While it retains that classic, historic feel that locals love, it’s now the go-to spot for delicious pizza. Whether you’re stopping in for a cold drink or a hot slice, it’s a must-visit addition to your downtown rotation.

The Established Favorites: Local Staples

These restaurants have firmly cemented themselves as the “heart” of our downtown dining scene. You can’t say you’ve truly experienced Little Falls until you’ve visited these fan-favorites:

  • Ciao Thyme: Tucked right next to The Falls Theatre, Ciao Thyme is the perfect blend of casual and gourmet. Known for their wood-fired pizzas, artisan sandwiches, and Italian-American classics, it’s a sophisticated spot with a cozy atmosphere. Pro-Tip: Check out their backroom for your next private party!
  • Tavern on First: Owned by the experienced team from The Falls Ballroom, this tavern is a community hub. Between the drool-worthy burgers and wings, and the high-energy Tavern Trivia Fridays, it’s always a good time at the Tavern.
  • A. T. The Black & White: For nearly 20 years, Le Cordon Bleu graduates Tomas and Amanda Zimmerman have been delighting the city with their unique recipes. Whether you want a quick, casual lunch or a formal dinner, the atmosphere here is always just right.
  • Great Wall: If you’re after authentic New York-style Chinese food, Great Wall is the place. Their buffet and extensive takeout menu (available six days a week) make it a reliable and delicious choice for a quick meal.

Local Hangouts: Bars, Bingo, and Big Screens

Looking for a lively night out with friends? These local spots offer great drinks and even better company.

  • American Legion: A true community pillar! Come for the friendly atmosphere, but stay for the live performances, bingo nights, and a full bar and kitchen that never disappoint.
  • Johnny C’s Sports Bar: The ultimate game-day destination. With virtual racing, meat raffles, and free popcorn while you wait for your wings or pizza, it’s a high-energy spot that’s perfect for cheering on your favorite team.
  • The Falls Bar & the Rustic Saloon: For that classic “hometown bar” vibe, look no further. The Falls Bar is famous for its awesome staff and off-sale options, while The Rustic Saloon provides a great atmosphere and e-tabs for some extra fun.
