Take a Step Back in Time and Become One with History at the Linden Hill Historic Estate
You may find yourself wishing you never have to leave. You wouldn’t be the first!
We invite you to visit us and experience our guided Linden Historic Mansion Museum tour. You’ll get to hear many wonderful stories of local history, life here in the 1890s-1980s, and will be able to physically walk through the beautifully preserved, nationally recognized historic home.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Linden Hill is one of the most elegant retreat destinations in Minnesota. It is situated on nine well-groomed acres overlooking the Mississippi River and is walking distance from historic downtown Little Falls, Minn. Built in 1898, the two neighboring homes of the Weyerhaeuser (green mansion) and Musser (white mansion) families now provide the perfect historical setting for educational experiences, lodging, hospitality and special occasion events. Today, Linden Hill Historical Event Center and Educational Facility are a non-profit managed by The Friends of Linden Hill, Inc. The mansions (which are more like “living museums” complete with actual time-period furnishings), the grounds, pavilion and adjacent structures are available for touring and use throughout the year. Please contact us for more information.
The Linden Hill Historical Event Center guarantees a memorable stay, in the Musser Mansion only, any time of year. All our heirloom-filled rooms are complete with awe-inspiring views, ranging from the Mississippi River, private grounds filled with gardens, charming buildings, and historic spaces.
Whether you are just touring or are here for an overnight wedding or quilting weekend, your time spent at our “living museum,” known as Linden Hill, will not be forgotten.
Guided tours of the Weyerhaeuser (green) mansion are available during the summer months. Originally the home of Charles A Weyerhaeuser and his family, this 9,500 square foot home now serves as the Linden Hill museum. Come learn about life between the 1890s-1980s, hear about local history, and walk through much of the beautifully preserved, nationally recognized historic home filled with original Musser & Weyerhaeuser family heirlooms.
The estate’s manicured grounds of majestic oaks, basswoods (aka linden trees, for which the estate was named), lush gardens and blooming flowers, with the serene Mississippi River flowing in the background create memorable garden weddings. At the other end of the spectrum, the historic Musser mansion, with its elegant parlor, dramatic dining area, heirloom-filled rooms, and awe-inspiring views produce stunning weddings right out of a movie scene. From the rehearsal dinner to the final dance, you can hold all of your wedding festivities in one beautiful, historic and magical place.
Mid-week, Full-week or Weekend stays available.
Musser Mansions included lodging for up to 25 people in 10 bedrooms. 6 full bathrooms, 2 powder rooms, commercial kitchen, gathering spaces and plenty of room to spread out and find a personal nook, too. A unique, historic, cozy, fun and memorable place for groups to gather.
