The Great River Road is a network of roadways following the course of the Mississippi River through ten states offering a bounty of river stories and experiences in a parkway setting.
Minnesota’s Great River Road spans 565 miles, 43 communities, 20 counties, three tribes and six unique destination areas, providing public access to and promoting exploration of America’s Great River benefiting residents, businesses and tourists alike.
Little Falls is located on the Scenic driving section.
Wild and Scenic River is the designation given to this pristine section of Minnesota’s Mississippi. The river here is ideal for canoeing, picnicking, fishing and biking. Host cites offer iconic main street architecture, a variety of museums, the boyhood home of aviator Charles Lindbergh, lovely parks, and magnificent gardens while rural farmscapes provide a backdrop for a relaxing and scenic river experience as well as locally grown foods.
