Join local artist Rachel Gold for wheel throwing classes at GRA.Β During ceramics class at Great River Arts, students will be learning the basic skills of wheel throwing. Along with throwing, you will be learning about the unique clay process it takes to complete a piece of artwork. Wedging, centering, trimming, and glazing are only a few of the basic skills that will be learned while creating your vessels. Students will have the opportunity to walk out with 2-3 completed pieces of artwork. You will have the choice of many different vessel shapes depending on experience and comfort levels.Β Return once the pottery is fired for the first time to glaze your piece.
Participants can choose if they would like to throw on the 27th or 28th.Β This class is open to ages 16+ with a class size limit of 10.Β All supplies are included.
June 27th, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Throwing on the wheel)
June 28th, 5 – 7:30 p.m. (Throwing on the wheel)
June 29th, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. (Trimming and underglaze)
