Not too long ago, the city of Little Falls was home to Hennepin Paper Mill. Utilizing the water of the Mississippi River, this industry was a major economic force for the community. We’ll use this history as a starting point for conversation around the importance of water for the area, as an agricultural necessity, a tourist attraction, and an important element that keeps us alive.
Join us at Great River Arts to make paper, using Little Falls ground water and the petals of wild flowers grown next to area roads, and tell stories or share thoughts about the importance of water to you. Excerpts from these stories may be used as text for the Creating With/For Water project and the paper created will be used at a future project for watercolor paintings, drawings, or more.
This event is free and open to the public. This event is accessible for all ages and abilities.
