Meet Marcie Rendon, author of the Cash Black Bear Murder Mystery Series and recipient of a McKnight Distinguished Artist Award. Rendon is an enrolled member of the White Earth Nation and has written a wide range of fiction and non-fiction works. Her Cash Black Bear series, which Publishers Weekly described as “feisty, sensitive and smart” takes place in 1970’s Minnesota with much of the action and focus moving between Moorhead and the White Earth Reservation. The three-book series Murder on the Red River, Girl Gone Missing, and Sinister Graves garnered Ms. Rendon an Edgar Award Nomination. As a community arts activist, Rendon supports other native artists, writers, and creators in pursuit of their art and is an in-demand speaker on Native Issues, leadership, and writing.
