Little Falls Scavenger Hunt
One of the most frequent questions we hear at the Little Falls Chamber and Tourism is: “What is there to do in Little Falls?” Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a lifelong resident, it’s a fair question! While we have a long list of recommendations, one of our favorite ways to help people discover the city is through Geocaching.
Think of it as a global treasure hunt powered by GPS. It’s the perfect way to turn a normal walk into an outdoor adventure.

What is Geocaching?
If you’re new to the game, Geocaching is a worldwide activity where people hide and seek containers called “caches.” These treasures are tucked away everywhere—from urban street corners to deep in the woods—and range from tiny containers to large boxes.
How to Play:
- Download: Use the Geocaching app or website to see an interactive map of Little Falls.
- Seek: Choose a cache and use the coordinates, description, and “hint” to track it down.
- Log: Once found, sign the physical logbook inside and log your find digitally to let the owner know you were there!

Featured Little Falls Caches
Visit Little Falls currently maintains two specific caches designed to lead you to some of our most beautiful landmarks:
- Little Falls 1 (Pine Grove Park): Located just outside the Pine Grove Zoo, this is a great “starter” cache. After you find it, you’re in the perfect spot to walk the fit trail, let the kids run on the playground, or head into the zoo to see the tigers, wolves, and kangaroos!
- Little Falls 2 (LeBourget Park): This cache takes you to the banks of the Mississippi in a park named after our sister city in France. While you’re searching, take in the river views, check out the Wayfinding history boards, and maybe even play a round on the 9-hole disc golf course.

More Ways to Discover Our City
If you want to keep the scavenger hunt going, there are plenty of other treasures to find (no GPS required!):
- The Mural Tour: We have stunning public art murals spread throughout the entire city. Can you find them all? They make for the perfect photo op!
- Wayfinding Plaques: Visit Belle Prairie, LeBourget, Mill, Pine Grove, and Riverside Parks to find our Wayfinding markers. They celebrate the history of our city and the Native American people who first called this area home.
- Historic Downtown Tour: Follow the Historic Downtown Walking & Driving Tour for a “then-and-now” look at our beautiful architecture. You can pick up a physical guide at our office or find it on our website.
