Free art classes for seniors at St. Francis Music Center
St. Francis Music Center is offering “Fanciful Flowers,” a mixed media art class for seniors aged 55 and older. The class is free to all participants. No experience is necessary, just a desire to create and have fun in a relaxed atmosphere. Taught by Judith Hecht, local artist, the class will use a variety of art techniques to create a fanciful flower canvas that is unique to each participant.
Two identical sessions will be held. Class 1 will be July 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants need to attend both days. Class 2 will be July 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to noon; again, participants must attend both classes in order to complete the painting.
Classes take place at St. Francis Music Center on the campus of the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls. Class size is limited. Registration is required by calling St. Francis Music Center at (320) 632-0637.
These activities are made possible by a grant provided by the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
