Oasis Central Minnesota, PlaceBase Productions and zAmya Theater Project are producing a Central Minnesota adaptation of zAmya’s original play, A Prairie Homeless Companion. Modeled after the well-known radio show A Prairie Home Companion, this show is both a humorous satire and a serious look at housing instability in Greater MN.
As part of the adaptation process, we held workshops this spring at Great River Arts in Little Falls. Community members, including people with the lived experience of homelessness, developed personal stories about housing and housing instability into monologues, scenes, poems and songs. Some of the pieces will be developed into content for an “Open Mic” section of A Prairie Homeless Companion when it tours Central MN this fall (dates will be announced soon).
These community members will be performing their stories at a FREE “Supper & Showcase” event on Saturday, June 10th. Please join us!
When: Saturday, June 10th
