St. Francis Music Center proudly presents the St. Francis Orchestras in a Christmas concert: “Christmas Collage!” on Friday, December 15 at 7 p.m. in the Sacred Heart Chapel on the campus of the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls, at 116 8th Ave SE in Little Falls.
Everyone is invited to this evening of festive music featuring the three string orchestras at St. Francis Music Center. These orchestras are open to all area string players, grade school ages through adults, from throughout our central Minnesota area.
The audience will recognize many Christmas carols such as Overture to the Nutcracker, French Carol, Jingle Bells, Ukrainian Bell Carol, Pat-a-Pan, Veni, Veni and more. One of the pieces, English Carol Collage, begins with a lively fiddle carol which intertwines with many beloved carols.
The St. Francis Sonata, Mezzo, and Maestoso orchestras are under the direction of Melissa VonItter. The St. Francis Chamber Orchestra is directed by Amanda Jansen. Both directors are faculty members at St. Francis Music Center. The concert will also feature the St. Francis Brass Ensemble.
The public is invited to attend this free concert to brighten your Christmas season! This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board Operating Support grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
