The Friends of the Little Falls Carnegie Library are organizing their Fall Book Sale with a great selection of used books in good condition at bargain prices. Sale hours are:
Wednesday, Sept. 3, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. (for Friends members only) Thursday, Sept. 4, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Wellness in the Woods is pleased to announce our upcoming 2nd Annual Rural Wellness Conference, September 6, 2014, at the Grace Covenant Church in Little Falls from 9am-4:30pm. The theme this year is "Diversity in Wellness - Recovery Outside the Box" with keynote speakers David Hartford - Care Center Director Behavioral Health Services, CentraCare St. Cloud and Maureen Marrin - Ombudsman Peer Services, Ombudsman for Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities. The Little Falls Carnegie Library is offering a Children’s Poetry Camp for ages 5 to 12 on Saturday, Sept. 13, 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Join the fun and enjoy poems by J.R.R. Tolkien, Shel Silverstein and more. Children will create their own acrostic, rune, haiku and magnetic poetry. Prizes will be awarded by a drawing at the end of the program. Come to the Falls Ballroom on Sunday, September 14 for a presentation by Jan and Mary Warner, the Weyerhaeuser Museum executive director and manager respectively, about ghost towns of Morrison County. CLA Estate Services is hosting a FREE Estate Planning Workshop Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 1112 (1210 3rd Ave. NE, Little Falls, MN 56345). The workshop will provide valuable information for seniors on securing one's estate and retirement planning. The 2014 Chamber Sporting Clays event will be Tuesday, September 16 at LeBlanc's Rice Creek Hunting and Recreation. We will begin the event with registration at 3:00 pm. Station shooting will begin at 4:00 pm. After shooting enjoy wild game hors d oeuvres, beverages and a short program.

The 10th annual Hammerin' the Highway for Habitat ride starts and ends at the Red Rooster Bar and Grill in Genola/Pierz. Registration begins at 10am and the ride begins at 11:30am. Bikes return back to the Red Rooster at approximately 5:30pm where an evening meal, silent and live auction, raffle drawing and live music round out the day's activities. The 49th Annual Camp Ripley Golf Tournament will be Monday, September 22, 2014 at Eagles Landing Golf Course. All full-time, part-time, temporary Camp Ripley employees, retirees, and friends of Camp Ripley are invited to participate. Tournament format is a foursome, 18-hole scramble. All teams will tee off at 12pm as a shotgun start. Cost per player for 18-holes of golf, with an electric cart and dinner is $50. The inaugural 5K Honor Run will be held at Lions Park in Little Falls on September 27, 2014. Come out and run in honor of a Service Member, Veteran Military family or any individual you would like to run in honor of. Registration opens at 7am and the race starts at 8am. There will be a pancake breakfast from 8:30am-11am, donations are welcome! Entry fee is $25 per person, $30 after September 10.
