 Lindbergh: Extraordinary Boy - Thursdays-Sundays
Charles A. Lindbergh was a record-breaking aviator and a world-famous celebrity. Today some people consider him an American hero, while others see him as a controversial figure. In this 45-minute tour of his boyhood home, explore where it all began. Get to know where he came from in order to explore who he was. Following the tour, delve deeper into the stories of Lindbergh's later years through interactive exhibits in the visitor center, including the popular cockpit flight simulator.

 Living History: Meet the Lindberghs
Saturay June 7 & 21, July 5 & 19, August 2, 16 & 30.
Learn what life was like for Charles Lindbergh growing up on a farm during the First World War. Costumed characters portraying Lindbergh family members and neighbors will provide insights to Charles' interests in aviation, technology and nature. Hear inside stories about the Lindbergh family and have the chance to try some of the chores Charles did around the farm. Experience life of an ordinary boy who grew up to do extraordinary things. Children of all ages are invited to enjoy Pint Size Polkas with polka master Mike Schneider at the Little Falls Carnegie Library on Thursday, July 3, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Schneider entertains and educates with humor, trivia and foot stomping music. This program is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

There will be a parade at 11am down 6th Street and Main Streetin Randall. Other events include bar bingo at the Randall VFW, live band and a medallion hunt from June 29-July 3.
 07/04/2014   Hillman 4th of July Parade
The City of Hillman touts it Fourth of July parade as "the biggest parade in the smallest town" The 11am parade lasts for at least 1 1/2 hours and includes floats, cars, tractors and more. The afternoon includes a variety of food, as well as games for kids, a craft fair and softball and horseshoe tournaments.

Bowlus Fun Day is an all day event sponsored by the Bowlus Fire and Rescue and Bowlus First Response. There will be a 5K & 1K, an outdoor polka mass, parade, great food, live music, bingo and tons of family fun. At 2:30, local fire departments face off with water fights and the best fireworks around begin at dusk.

 Swanville Carnival
The Swanville Carnival, hosted by the Swanville Lions will be held July 11-13. The festivities begin on Friday at 6pm when the midway opens and the Lions begin serving their famous barbecue chicken. Some of the fun for the weekend includes a Ride for the Cure motorcycle ride, bingo, live music and parade. For more information about the carnival, call 320-547-2465.

 Habitat 500
The Habitat 500 bicycle ride is a pledged, fully supported 500-mile, seven day bicycle ride hosted by Habitat for Humanity of Minnesota, raising funds and awareness for local Habitat affiliates. This 18 hole Golf Outing is an event enjoyed by all. Cost per golfer is $85. Your golf registration includes: 18 holes of golf, cart, 2 beverage tickets, boxed lunch, dinner, door prizes, games on the course, networking and an afternoon of fun.

The Minnesota Military Museum will be hosting the second in a series of “History after Hours” socials on Thursday July 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm with “hands on programs” starting at 6:00. The theme will be “Hands on Military History”.

Guests will be able to enjoy wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres while touring the inside and outside museum exhibits.

Special “hands on” stations manned by period actors and back room tours will be provided.

The Lindbergh center will be hosting the first in this series in April with Linden Hills and the Chamber hosting later in the year. Tickets will be available from the Museum or the Chamber.

The third annual Michael "Lody" Lodermeier memorial softball tournament will be held at the Lindbergh Lions Recreational Complex softball fields. Double-elimination tournament with $150 entry fee. Games start at 9am. Prize money is determined by number of teams. Concessions by the Little Falls Flyers Wrestling Booster Club. Sacred Heart Parish in Flensburg will host its annual bazaar with an outdoor polka mass, parade, live auction, Gorka's chicken dinner, concessions, games and more! There will be a $10,000 cash raffle drawing at 3pm with only 400 tickets sold. All proceeds are going to support the parish and the Youth Baseball Association in Flensberg.

Adults, teens, and children 8 and older are invited to Make a Community Mosaic, a creative craft workshop at the Little Falls Carnegie Library on Tuesday, July 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Each participant will create a small mosaic to take home, and collaborate on a big community mosaic to be displayed at the library. Registration is required and the attendance limit is 25. This program is funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
