Friday, June 15 thru Sunday, June 17, 2012. This family event will be held at Maple Island Park along the Mississippi River - Downtown Little Falls.
Monday, June 11th the Dam Festival Medallion Hunt will begin. Visit www.mmfcu.org Monday thru Friday, where a new clue will be posted daily by 9:00 a.m., for a total of five clues. The medallion is located within Little Falls city limits and on public property. It is not buried or inside a building. Destruction of property is not necessary. Anyone can participate except: Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union employees, volunteers and their families. The finder must present the medallion to staff at Mid-MN Federal Credit Union during business hours for verification of the medallion. The finder of the medallion will win $500 to be presented at the Dam Festival on Friday, June 15. Event is sponsored by Mid-Minnesota Federal Credit Union.
The Little Falls Dam Festival features free entertainment sure to delight guests of all ages. Friday, June 15 activities include a Dam Sidewalk Sale, Texaco Country Showdown, and street dance with Silverado performing.
For music lovers on Saturday, June 16 there will be The Nite Owls polka band, karaoke (Dam Talent Contest), and a street dance with DJ Double Trouble.
Family activities include a parade, Family Carnival, petting zoo, the entertaining BMX Stunt Bike Team, arts and crafts, flavorsome food, airplane rides, and much more.
As you walk through beautiful Maple Island Park, along the Mississippi River, you will take in "LaCompagnie HSP". They entertain through a fur trade era historical re-enactment. See how they dress and watch them perform activities as they did in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Items and food will be available for purchase. For more information click their link above. After a day of family fun entertainment and activities, you can sit down and relax on the banks of the serene Mississippi River and enjoy the spectacular fireworks display.
Don’t forget to come back on Sunday, June 17! The Great River Arts Association sponsors Concert in the Park. Bring a chair or blanket and sit back to enjoy an afternoon of fantastic music from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
The Little Falls Dam Festival also includes history displays, community lane and more. A variety of food vendors will be present.
